MP High Pressure Coolant Pumps |
Efficient chip removal is critical in deep hole and gun drilling operations to minimize tool deflection, combined with efficient heat reduction it maximizes drill life and reduces the chances of premature drill breakage.
Tooling manufacturers now produce drills with diameters as low as .039" with through the tool coolant capability.
High pressure coolant aimed into the cutting zone with sufficient pressure to
- minimize "cyclic cooling"
- maximize heat removal from the tool and work piece
- deflect chips away from the cutting zone
"Stringy" such as low carbon steel alloys produce hard to break chips that can quickly grow in to "birds nests" that foul the work piece and tool-holders. High pressure coolant aimed at the tip of the turning tool will "quench" the chip making it brittle and allowing it to snap and fall away into the chip pan preventing "birds-nesting".

Applications
|
|
"S" Series
(Swiss)
|
These systems were developed for sliding headstock or
"Swiss" style lathes.
The "S" Series systems are 4 and 8 port systems designed
to operate up to 5gpm/ 2,000 psi for oil coolant and up to 8gpm/1,000 psi for
water based coolants.
They work best when the machine tool has a coolant tank
with a 40 gallon (150 liter) capacity or larger.

|
"R" Series
(Reservoir)
|
These systems were developed for the general machining
market:
They are 2 port systems (optional 3rd port
available) that operate up to 8gpm/1,000psi.
They have a 50 gallon reservoir and are equipped with a
built in feed-pump, PLC display, dual quick change filiters, dirty filter
alarm.
Variable Flow -
our RV system was designed to handle machining processes that operate with a
wide range of tool sizes where coolant flow will vary significantly from tool
to tool.

|
"E" Series
(Economy)
|
This system was developed to provide a basic system with a
single port designed to operate up to 3gpm/1,000psi.
It is often used to feed through the spindle coolant on
Milling and Multi-function machines, or a single high pressure port on
sliding headstock (Swiss) lathes
